I write with reference to your correspondence of 24 May 2010, under cover of which you presented the translation, from English into French and Dutch, of the Draft Report of the CARICOM Commission on Youth Development and the Paramaribo Declaration.
I am deeply appreciative of this first major task of its kind undertaken and successfully completed by the CRITI. As I had indicated before, this was indeed a “landmark undertaking”. I have been reliably informed that the Report and Declaration will soon be made available on www.caricom.org, in all three languages. This would not have been possible without the hard work and diligence of you and staff at the CRITI.
I would greatly appreciate if you would convey my thanks to all who worked to make thetranslations a reality.
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat is pleased to receive the translated versions of the Draft Report of the CARICOM Commission on Youth Development “Eye on the Future” in the Dutch and French languages. We much appreciate this significant support of CRITI which will no doubt assist in increasing the understanding of youth across the cultures of the Region and their greater involvement in the decision-making process of the Community. This effort should, in addition, contribute to the effective implementation of the CARICOM Policy on Youth Development.
The CARICOM Secretariat looks forward to the continued support of the CRITI to the development of the Community.
